| Requirements and Responsibilities For VP of Project Management |
| Leads the organization's project management function by establishing strategic direction, governance standards, and operational frameworks for enterprise-wide projects and programs. Develops long-term project management strategies that align organizational resources, priorities, and initiatives with corporate objectives. Oversees project portfolio management, budgeting, staffing, risk mitigation, and performance measurement activities across multiple business functions. Collaborates with executive leadership to evaluate strategic initiatives, prioritize investments, and ensure the successful execution of critical business projects. Directs development and implementation of project management methodologies, tools, and continuous improvement programs to enhance organizational efficiency and accountability. Represents the project management function in executive planning, organizational transformation, and cross-functional leadership activities. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require Project Management Certification. Typically reports to senior management. Manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments. Typically requires 8+ years of managerial experience. Comprehensive knowledge of the overall departmental function. |
