| Requirements and Responsibilities For VP of Claims |
| Plans and directs the claims function to ensure efficient, accurate, and cost-effective handling and resolution of claims. Establishes claims policies, performance standards, and operational objectives across all lines of business. Leads a senior team of directors and managers responsible for claims adjudication, investigation, litigation, and settlement. Develops and monitors key performance indicators, loss reserves, and departmental budgets to control costs and improve outcomes. Ensures compliance with applicable state and federal insurance regulations and internal governance standards. Drives technology adoption, process improvement, and talent development to enhance service quality and operational efficiency. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. Manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments. Typically requires 8+ years of managerial experience. Comprehensive knowledge of the overall departmental function. |
