| Requirements and Responsibilities For Medical Staff Credentialing Manager |
| Manages the team responsible for processing credentialing and recredentialing applications for providers within a health care network. Monitors the reviewing and verification of credentialing applications. Loads and maintains provider information in the credentialing database system. Tracks license and certification expirations for medical staff to ensure timely renewals. Resolves complex questions regarding credentialing, database maintenance, and best practices. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. Manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. Extensive knowledge of the function and department processes. |
