| Requirements and Responsibilities For DOT Compliance Manager |
| Manages the team responsible for ensuring an organization's commercial drivers and/or vehicles adhere to federal and state transportation regulations. Maintains driver qualification files, oversees mandatory drug and alcohol testing, audits hours of service logs, and monitors vehicle maintenance. Ensures all regulatory and compliance documents are completed accurately and filed timely. Has a deep understanding of DOT rules and regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. Manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. Extensive knowledge of the function and department processes. |
