| Requirements and Responsibilities For Claims Intake Specialist I |
| Performs the initial intake, setup, and triage of new claims to ensure timely and accurate entry into the claims system. Gathers and verifies claim details, policy information, and required documentation from claimants and reporting parties. Enters and assigns claims accurately based on type, severity, and routing guidelines. Communicates with policyholders, claimants, and providers to acknowledge receipt and request missing information. Identifies urgent or high-exposure claims and escalates them according to established protocols. Maintains accurate records and ensures compliance with documentation and regulatory requirements. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. May require 0-1 year of general work experience. |
