| Requirements and Responsibilities For VP of Clinical Research |
| Plans and directs all aspects of the clinical research function for an organization. Oversees and leads the team responsible for the design, administration, and execution of clinical research trials. Designs, develops, and implements clinical processes, procedures, and programs. Oversees compliance and ensures adherence to established processes and procedures, FDA regulatory requirements, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) research standards, and JCAHO and International Conference on Harmonization (ICH) guidelines. May require an advanced degree. May require ACRP or SOCRA certification. Typically reports to senior management. Manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments. Typically requires 8+ years of managerial experience. Comprehensive knowledge of the overall departmental function. |
