| Requirements and Responsibilities For Field Service Engineering Director |
| Directs field service engineering activities to provide effective on-site technical assistance with various products or equipment. Plans and develops policies and procedures for on-site installation, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of products/equipment to ensure proper function and maximize uptime. Reviews service contracts and directs support services. Develops methods, guidelines, and policies to facilitate efficient service delivery. Reviews service reports to monitor service performance, product reliability, and customer satisfaction. Ensures all customer issues are satisfactorily resolved and works with engineering, manufacturing, and other teams to correct root causes. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. Manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. |
